At Data2Slide, we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our users. Our data collection is minimal by design: your raw files are parsed locally in your browser and never uploaded to our servers. Only the information needed to run the service is stored.

Data we collect

• Account information — Your name, email address, and authentication details when you register or sign in.
• Usage data — Pages visited, generation requests submitted, and feature interactions to help us improve the product.
• Presentation data — The structured JSON and rendered HTML of presentations you generate, stored so you can edit, share, and re-open them.
• Device information — Basic browser and device details to optimize compatibility.
• Cookies — Used for authentication state and user preferences.

Note on file uploads: CSV, Excel, PDF, and image files you upload are parsed entirely in your browser using client-side libraries (SheetJS, papaparse). The raw file content is never transmitted to our servers — only the parsed, structured data used for generation is sent.

Types of cookies we use

• Essential cookies — Required for authentication and core platform functionality. Cannot be opted out.
• Functional cookies — Remember preferences such as theme and editor state.
• Analytics cookies — Third-party tools (Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics) that help us understand how users interact with the product so we can improve it. Data collected is anonymized or pseudonymized.

You can disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will prevent sign-in from working.

How we use your data

• Deliver and maintain the presentation generation service
• Store and serve your saved presentations and shared links
• Provide customer support and communicate service updates
• Analyze usage patterns to improve the product

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data sharing

We only share data in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers — Stripe (payment processing), Cloudflare R2 (storage of generated JSON/HTML), Cloudflare D1 (database), and analytics providers.
• AI processing — The structured data from your upload is sent to Claude (Anthropic) to generate the presentation JSON. Raw file bytes are never sent.
• Legal requirements — When required by law or to protect rights and safety.
• With your consent — Any other sharing requires your explicit consent.

Data security and retention

We apply industry-standard security measures:

• SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit
• Secure cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) for generated presentations
• Regular security reviews and dependency updates

Retention practices:

• Generated presentations (JSON + HTML) are retained as long as your account is active
• Temporary generation queue data is cleared within 24 hours
• Account data is retained until you request deletion or close your account

Your presentations are private

All presentations you generate are private to your account by default. They are not publicly accessible until you explicitly share them via a unique link. You can revoke access at any time from your dashboard.

Downloaded HTML files are fully self-contained and stored only on your own device.

Your rights

• Access — Request a copy of personal data we hold about you
• Correction — Update or correct your account information
• Deletion — Request erasure of your personal data and all generated presentations
• Control — Opt out of marketing emails and manage cookie preferences via your browser
